What Is Wrinkle Relaxation?
This technique is to improve the appearance of "worry lines", "frown lines", "crow's feet" and "laugh lines". These wrinkles occur when we smile, laugh or frown. With time, these creases deepen and remain even when relaxed. Following an injection of Botox® (Botulinum Toxin) into the affected area, the overlying skin becomes smooth and unwrinkled whilst the facial muscles contract normally, leaving normal facial expressions unaffected and a very natural look. This technique is a simple and safe procedure, a very small amount of the product is injected into several muscles in the face, and because only a small needle is used, the discomfort associated with the injections is minimal.
The effects of the treatment normally last 3-6 months, so you will need to have the injections a few times a year, however, the duration of the benefits increases with time, so you may only require injections infrequently in the future. This toxin can also be used in the treatment of excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis).
The product starts taking effect on day 2/3 but the full effects can take 2-3 weeks. Most patients do not need additional treatment but if required we can top up at a nominal fee.
