About Advanced Cryotherapy for skin solutions

Advanced cryotherapy is a sophisticated, non-invasive solution designed to precisely remove unwanted skin imperfections with clinical accuracy. This innovative treatment utilises a fine jet of high-pressure nitrous oxide to target the intercellular fluid within the blemish, freezing it instantly to destroy the targeted cells.

Because of its millimetre precision, the procedure is incredibly fast, often taking as little as 5 to 30 seconds, and ensures that the surrounding healthy tissue remains completely untouched. It is an ideal medical-grade choice for safely eliminating skin tags, age spots, milia, and cherry angiomas, helping you achieve a smooth, flawlessly clear complexion.

How Advanced Cryotherapy Works

The advanced cryotherapy tool emits a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure, which allows us to work with millimetre precision. This destroys the tissue by freezing the intercellular fluid, forming ice shards and crystals which rupture the membrane, thereby destroying the cell. That means there will be no collateral damage to the healthy tissue. It's so incredibly accurate and practical.

Many common skin imperfections, such as skin tags, milia, and cherry angiomas, are now considered cosmetic and are no longer routinely treated by the NHS. At Flawless, we provide advanced, medical-grade cryotherapy to safely and precisely eliminate these blemishes, restoring your skin’s clear and healthy appearance.

The applicator is held as close as possible to the skin imperfection and moved quickly towards and away from it. This could be from 1 to 30 seconds depending on the size and depth.

FAQ

Are there any side effects?

The area treated is frozen by Cryotherapy. This kills the localised cells in the area which cause them to shrivel and die. The treated area may go darker over a few weeks, but will return to normal pigmented skin in about 6 weeks.

How long are Cryotherapy treatments?

The duration of treatment time will depend on the surface area and the thickness of the tissue being treated. Upon the clinical evaluation of the depth of the area, we will choose an application time from 1 to 30 seconds.

How much will the treatment cost?

The cost of treatment will depend on the size of the area and clinic location. Make an appointment with our nurse practitioner Julia to discuss costs and assess your area.

How safe is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a relatively safe, low-risk procedure. It delivers a freeze directly to the area, and not the healthy surrounding tissue. The Cryotherapy device is both CE and FDA registered.

Is the treatment painful?

There will be a pain sensation similar to a stinging nettle on the skin when the NItrious Oxide reaches the bottom of the area. There might be a little residual stinging for a few minutes after treatment which is normal.

How long with the area take to fully heal?

It may take up to 4 weeks following aftercare case advice from your nurse practitioner to fully heal. Some patients may need up to 2 treatments sessions for large skin tags due to healing period and for the best results. You will be advised not to scratch the treated area otherwise damages the tissue and can lead to infection.
